This is Rebecca’s favourite recipe and I like it too.
Not only does it allow you to save money and reduce toxic chemicals in your home, but it reduces your families plastic footprint.
- 1 cup borax
- 1 cup washing soda or (Rebecca prefers) 2 cups of baking soda
- 1/2 cup coarse salt
- 1/2 cup citric acid (get at any brewing store (I found it in larger quantities at places for beer, not just wine)
Mix well and put in sealable glass jars.
Fill your soap dispenser trays as usual.
Tip: use white vinegar instead of rinse aid in rinse dispenser.
NOTE: If you’ve left something on the counter for a few days, this will not eat it off.
Soak your pot or baking dish overnight, covered in water (if possible) with 1/3 cup of the Washing Detergent dissolved in the water.
Tip: If baking under 400°F or 200°C line your dish with parchment paper, makes clean up a quick wipe.
